Seated Mountain Pose
Sweep your arms up with the breath to wake up the spine.
spineshoulderscore
How to do it
- 1Sit tall with your feet flat on the floor.
- 2Breathe in as you sweep your arms out to the sides and up overhead.
- 3Breathe out as you lower them back down to your thighs.
- 4Move with your breath, at your own pace.
Repeat for 6 reps, breathing slowly. Move only as far as feels comfortable.
Why it helps
Lengthens the spine and opens the shoulders. A gentle way to wake up the whole body.
Make it easier
Raise the arms only to shoulder height, or keep the elbows bent.
Skip it or ask your doctor first if you have
- Recent shoulder surgery or a painful shoulder injury
